Care Package #8: Mithra

space gurl_mits.png

Space gurl is a digital illustration of a fabricated hybrid being. Inspired by the film Ghost in the shell (1995) and the anatomy of the reticulated glass frog, the illustration features the humanoid body as a vessel for chimeric mutations. Mashing fantastical landscapes of asteroids and alien squishes (placed on Tristy's work), both earthly and mutant, through and within it, the space gurl is a permeable conduit of imagination.

Mithra is a visual artist who creates fictional and non-binary landscapes. Within her landscapes she houses chimeric beings that are birthed from the writings of Donna Haraway and the "Ero guro nansensu" art style.
