[AMANDA HENG OPEN CALL] How do we deal with the impulse of being around each other in a space?

We are happy to announce that we are having an Open Call for a project with Amanda Heng!

Prolific artist Amanda Heng is known for her art exploring real-world issues through ordinary activities — walking, plucking taughey, and having coffee are examples of these everyday activities Amanda has used to explore topics near and dear to her heart.

We’re excited to be collaborating with Amanda on a new project exploring the question, how do we deal with the impulse of being around each other in a space? And we’re calling for participants to be part of the conversation!

How do we deal with the impulse of seeking company and to be around each other in a space? And what do we do in the face of a lockdown and pandemic? This conversation hopes to examine and revisit the instinctive resources in individuals and ask some of the fundamental questions about our perceptions and the meaning of being independent and interdependent in relationships and life practices.

The process and experience form the artwork. The participants will take active roles and engage fully in the conversation. This requires time, commitment, courage and willingness to open to the public their personal thoughts and values. The session will allow us to find out if the participants are keen in this form of engagement, and if we want to converse more, together.
