MMCA Residency Exchange

National Museum of modern and contemporary art (mmca)

The MMCA Residency provides artist-in-residence programmes run by the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea in order to encourage and support artistic creativity and to make Korean contemporary art known to the world. The residency has developed into an international studio by selecting and inviting creative artists over the world.

It provides opportunities to capable foreign artists based on the international network as a member of Res Artis and the AAC (Alliance of Artists Communities). The residency constitutes various residency programmes according to partner organisations, particular regions, certain time periods, support, and screening (contest and public recommendation).

Since 2004, MMCA Residency Goyang supports International Residency Exchange Programmes for resident artist in co-operation with partnering institutions in overseas. Through this programme, MMCA Residency provides opportunities to Korean artists to work in an overseas studio and activate international exchange. Also the international artists from counterpart organisation stay in MMCA Residency and interact with resident artists. • https://www.mmca.go.kr/
